You
have chosen to dine at the Raincity Grill and in doing so, to experience
the fine wines and cuisine of the Pacific Northwest. You won't find
wines from Australia, France, Italy and the other great wine producing
regions of the world on our wine list because we feel that by focusing
solely on wines from British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California
we can offer you a wider variety of styles, producers and vintages
from within each region - wines an international wine list might miss.
This philosophy also gives you a chance to sample the wines and food
together, from a great gastronomic region.
We offer you over 100 of our "regular" listed wines by the glass in order
to give you the maximum opportunity to find the appropriate wine match for
your chosen meal. Our pricing policy is very competitive. Our regular listed
wines have been marked up a maximum of $25. This way you can choose a relatively
expensive bottle of wine with the knowledge that no matter what, you are
paying the same maximum mark up - from California's Sonoma Cutrer "Russian
River" Chardonnay to B.C.'s Cedar Creek "Estate Select" Pinot Noir. Many
of the regular listed wines are available through the local British Columbia
Liquor Distribution Branches. The "reserve" portion of our wine list showcases
hard to find and rare wines from the west coast. Most of these wines are
not available through local retail outlets.
Included in each of the regional sections of the reserve list are detailed
wine maps for you to refer to in order to locate a winery that you have chosen.
Most of our reserve red wines are kept at a cellar temperature of 58 degrees
and might require a few moments to reach proper serving temperature. Take
note of the list of upcoming special order wines and also our page devoted
to Flights and Tasters featuring many rare wines and hard to find vintages.
If you require any assistance in choosing the right wine, please feel free
to ask. We hope you enjoy the best of the West!
