At Vancouver’s most regional restaurant, Raincity Grill, changes are afoot. Owner Harry Kambolis and Executive Chef Robert Clark wish a fond farewell to Sean Cousins, who, after fours years of dedicated service has moved on to other kitchens. But never fear, the staunch commitment to seasonal ingredients and regional suppliers continues with the new Chef de Cuisine, Andrea Carlson, who began work in March. Look for continued seasonal menus, with a greater focus on baking and bread making by the first few weeks of April.
Carlson really is part of the family. Her pedigree includes tours at Star Anise with Robert Clark,
C restaurant as Executive Sous Chef then Pastry Chef and a season at Sooke Harbour House.

With her own philosophy embracing the mandate at Raincity Grill, Carlson has come full circle,
having started her career in cooking with Greg Walsh of Raincity Grill in 1992, the year the restaurant opened.
Six degrees of Kambolis, from Raincity and back again.
Says Carlson: "I really believe that Raincity Grill envelopes all that is regional in both Vancouver and BC.
I look forward to working with seasonal and local products like berries and fruits in summer,
chestnuts and quince in the fall and winter."
